Ballyrags Comedy returns to The Wheatsheaf for another night of raw, unfiltered stand-up and sizzling hot food in the heart of Newport. After a run of sell-out shows, Ballyrags brings its trademark energy, atmosphere and hand-picked line-ups back to one of its favourite Island venues. Expect sharp punchlines, unpredictable moments, and the kind of laughter that fills the whole pub.
Headlining this month’s show is the brilliantly funny Jake Steers. “You can’t help but be in a good mood when you watch Jake on stage. Likeable, natural and very funny,” says Big Deal Comedy. A firm favourite on the UK circuit and a regular at The Stand-Up Club, Jake’s relaxed, conversational style and quick wit make him one of the most engaging comics around – a rising star you’ll be glad you saw here first.
Supporting Jake is a stellar line-up featuring Ryan Murphy, whose razor-sharp delivery and fearless jokes hit hard; Tove Falk, bringing her unique blend of quirky humour and offbeat charm; Nicky Vidler, full of energy, honesty and heart; and the inimitable Baron Fortitude, delivering surreal wordplay and lyrical laughs. Hosting the night is Toby Brown, Ballyrags co-founder and resident MC, known for his quick crowd work and big laugh energy.

Choose from burgers and chips (beef, chicken, or vegetarian) or meat/vegetarian pizzas, plus a drink of your choice — all freshly served from 6:30pm to 7:25pm, before the laughter kicks off at 7:30pm sharp.
