Balloons, cake, sparklers and top-tier stand-up — Ballyrags turned one, and we threw the party it deserved. The only gift we asked for was you in the room (a funny birthday card got you a shot at free tickets, mind).
Headlining was one of the biggest comedy names our fair Isle has produced: Alistair Barrie, a globally sought-after headliner known for razor-sharp, topical comedy. He's played Cape Town, Melbourne, New Zealand and Edinburgh — Best Show-nominated there twice — and you've caught him at Glastonbury, on ITV and the BBC, on Radio 4 and Times Radio, and across countless podcasts.
Backing him, an all-Island line-up of local talent, hosted by Ballyrags co-founders Toby Brown and Luc Valvona with live music from Shufflah. One year down, and exactly where we wanted to be.
