Ballyrags is proud to present Frank Sanazi: the world's only singing dictator!
Some acts play it safe. Frank Sanazi puts on a lounge suit, does Sinatra, and goose-steps all over the 20th century's worst monster. The cult creation of comedian Pete Cunningham, he's Ol' Blue Eyes by way of the Third Reich - "Third Reich" to the tune of "That's Life," "Strangers On My Flight," the lot.
Satire with its jackboots on, and squarely in the Mel Brooks / The Producers tradition: take the most evil man who ever lived and make him the punchline. This is a character built to ridicule Hitler, not celebrate him - the same trick Jewish comedians have been pulling since The Great Dictator.
He's been doing it for twenty-odd years and he's properly good at it - fearless with an audience, filthy-funny, and built a devoted (and faintly terrified) following across the UK circuit, Edinburgh, Glastonbury and beyond.
Gloriously wrong (the Scotsman called the Iraq Pack "fantastically wrong and ridiculously funny"). Daft, dark, and a lot cleverer than it lets on. Get a ticket and brace yourself.
