Keith Farnan

Keith Farnan used to be a solicitor. Then he came to his senses and started making people laugh for a living, which is a far more honest use of a sharp legal mind.

The Cork-born, globe-trotting Irishman has taken his mix of personal and political stand-up everywhere from Montreal's Just For Laughs to Hong Kong, Amsterdam and the Middle East.

You'll have seen him on BBC One's Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow, Showtime's Live from Amsterdam, Comedy Central's Live at the Comedy Store, and Dave's One Night Stand. His Edinburgh shows have sold out and taken him to the Soho Theatre and the Royal Festival Hall, which is not bad going for a man who once worked on death-penalty cases before deciding jokes were the better fight.

The Scotsman reckoned that if Eddie Izzard had been Irish, he'd have turned out a lot like Keith Farnan. The List said he'll make you think hard and laugh even harder. We just think he's a cracking booking.
