Our headliner tells all!
How did you get started in comedy?
I've always loved comedy, so giving stand-up a go felt like the natural next step. I finally took the plunge about a year or two before I was due to get my first proper job – and I'm very glad I did!
What – or who – influences your comedy?
Pretty much anything that annoys me can end up becoming material. It's usually things I either know far too little about or far too much about. The first category is definitely more fun to joke about, but, frustratingly, it's the second that tends to produce the stronger jokes.
Who's your comedy hero?
If I had to pick just one, it'd probably be Jon Stewart. He's brilliantly funny, but he's also incredibly sharp and insightful.
Is there any subject you regard as taboo?
No. I think anything can be joked about – and probably should be. For me, it's all about how you approach the subject rather than the subject itself.
Have you visited the Isle of Wight before?
This will actually be my first visit. I've heard plenty about the Isle of Wight over the years and it's always been somewhere I've wanted to see. It feels like one of Britain's really unique places, and I'm convinced that after finally making the trip I'll feel just a little bit more integrated into life in the UK!
