Some comedians build a following on TikTok. Mike Capozzola built one the old-fashioned way: a few decades on stage, a New York accent, and a stack of film and TV credits he'd probably rather we didn't list. So we will.

He's turned up in The Batman, Men in Black: International, The Phantom of the Open and Amazon's Citadel - and been doing stand-up since 1990 across 24 countries, from the clubs of New York to festivals across Europe and the Middle East. He's supported the likes of Dana Carvey, Craig Ferguson, Brian Regan and Richard Lewis, who called him "hilarious and twisted," which around here counts as a glowing reference.

Now the New York-raised, London-based Italian-American brings that sharp, dry, effortlessly quick act to the Royal Esplanade in Ryde. This is the good stuff: a comic who's been everywhere, done it all, and still knows exactly how to work a room full of Islanders.
